It’s not always going to be roses and smiles. You can follow all the rules, read all the inspirational quotes you can find and start everyday with a smile, but there are still going to be times when you feel a bit under the weather. We’re not talking about the occasional cold or flu; this is about feeling down and even depressed. Maybe you lost a loved one or you experienced a setback in your professional life.
As they say, sh_t happens. It’s inevitable. Just don’t take it too hard, and in fact, use these suggestions to get back on track.
1. Take stock of the good people around you. Chances are that you feeling down will bring down the people around you, too. Consider the positive people in your life and spend some time with them. It will probably be uplifting to spend time with a little one playing a simple game of hide and seek. A child’s laughter is contagious. Or you can go visit Mom or Grams to enjoy a home-cooked meal. The point is to break away for a bit and enjoy the company of some positive people.
